![]() ![]() This battery provides twice the lifetime and features an impact. Get 50 more power enabling faster application speeds and increased productivity with a 25 smaller footprint using this battery that works with all the 18V XR tools you already have. If you want the jigsaw and don't need the battery, just sell the powerstack starter kit. Introducing THE NEXT DIMENSION IN POWER with the 18V XR POWERSTACK Compact Battery. At that capacity, it might actually be worth checking out. The DEWALT POWERSTACK 20V MAX Compact Battery is 50 more powerful, 25 more compact, and 15 lighter. Well, eager to see everything except the price. And I am also eager to see the new 5Ah powerstack. But for the vast majority of us, powerstack is pointless (from a cost/benefit analysis).ĭon't get me wrong. If you are a pro, or otherwise really using a tool to the limits of its performance envelope, AND space is constrained, AND price is no object, then sure, the powerstack might *almost* make sense. And I can hardly tell the battery is there-it's not too heavy or bulky. ![]() Not only because it has less juice (1.7), but also because it will be using it as fast or FASTER (that's how they get the increased performance).Įven from a 2Ah, I get plenty of power out of my tools to do everything I need. Indeed, under almost every circumstance, it will won't last nearly as long as a 2.0Ah battery. And any claim that the powerstack has LONGER battery life is an outright lie. ![]() $35 for a battery and charger is a damn good deal but I already have six 2ah, two 4ah, four 5ah, one 6ah, and two 8ah so I might just be spending extra money for something that's inferior to over half my batteries as is.Īm I missing some fancy features or is dewalt just over hyping these things? Amazon has it on sale for $165 but HD has it for $200 with a free powerstack starter kit. Plus, the barrel grip style adds variety. I dont necessarily need it because I have a perfectly fine dewalt top handle jigsaw but it's not cordless and the only hand-held power tool I ever have to plug in. I only ask because I'm going to buy the brushless barrel grip jigsaw. I've only half ass researched them so forgive my laziness and ignorance but as far as I can tell the only advantage is it's compact size and it's slightly more powerful compared to the 2.0ah lithium ion? It seems the only powerstack available so far is 1.7ah so wouldn't it be next to useless in most larger tools? ![]()
